Ethiopia Built One Of The Top Ten Libraries In Africa !!!
It’s a cutting-edge library with over 1.15 billion birr in its collection. It is a 19,000-square-meter state-of-the-art library that ranks among Africa’s top 10 libraries. It has four stories and a 1.5-kilometer shelf that can contain 1.4 million volumes. It includes approximately 240,000 paperless books and 300,000 essays for parents and children to read together.
It features a children’s reading and sleeping area, sufficient Braille volumes for the blind, a contemporary canteen and conference room, eight book and associated businesses, an amphitheater and playground, and secure parking for 115 automobiles at a time.
This project was finished on schedule, demonstrating the government’s ability to carry it out.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Enlightenment Library, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed gave a message.
The message’s complete wording is as follows:
Enlightenment is the name of the library from which we are graduating today. Enlightenment is the process of being set free from the yoke of ignorance via the application of knowledge and truth. It is a method of discovering truth through logic, argument, evidence, and study. He believes that knowledge is the most effective means of discovering the truth. Brotherhood, tolerance, freedom, and openness to change, he says, are the foundations of a reasonable human society. As a result, man attempts to comprehend himself, the universe, and everything else in order to live a reasonable existence.
The more individuals study, learn, and learn, the better their connection is thought to be. Ignorance is a form of darkness. And there is no knowing or familiarity in the dark. Nothing doesn’t exist; it just doesn’t appear to exist. We are afraid of what we don’t understand, and we despise it. The image we form of something we don’t understand is incorrect.
The only way to get rid of it is to educate yourself. Knowing someone draws them closer together. We offer what we are aware of. We believe it: we’ll tell others about it; we adore it; we’ll be willing to live with him.
One of the revolution’s aims is to create a knowing society. The more information the community gains, the more familiar it gets; it is close: he has faith. It is founded on truthful information, leaving preconceptions about one another behind. Reform educational institutions; use current knowledge for national growth; research and studies; discussions and debates; free thinking forums; encourage art; promote authors and ideas; it has always been one of the approaches to change.
Lighting plays a crucial role in the period of transition, in addition to its economic importance.
The Unity Park and the Adwa Museum are supposed to be presented and explored, not discarded. Meskel Square’s reconstruction and the development of Sheger Park pave the way for religious, cultural, and artistic enrichment. The Entoto Art Gallery presents two of the most fascinating forms of art and music. Entoto Park, Churchill Avenue, and riverine projects, which look to be recreational, are intended to distract people from war and turmoil while also providing a sustainable platform.
The scam initiatives Gorgora, Wonchi, and Chebera are all designed to foster conversation, familiarity, and adoration among individuals for a single objective. To dismantle the barrier of divide and establish a zone of national unity.Ethiopia is one of the few countries in the world to have created its own alphabet, education system, and history.
In Islamic and Christian centers alone, there are around 250,000 manuscripts and mosques. It is the first African country to publish a book. Her children are travelling the country in pursuit of information; it is a place in which they have traveled extensively. Despite having a thousand-year literary and educational tradition; despite having generated hundreds of thousands of volumes, knowledge centers lack the means and resources to make them available to people who need them.
Outside of the institution, we still have one of the largest libraries. It’s the National Library and Library, which first opened its doors in 1936, making it 78 years old. In reality, at the zonal level, we should have at least one huge library. However, this did not occur. This enlightenment library will offer five different services. Available for both domestic and international books. Improve the reading area, especially for those with impairments. To offer online services. In a neighboring park, there is enough parking and service.
It is intended to reflect knowledge and history dating back to the dawn of architecture. The goal of the so-called “Enlightenment Library” is to create a society that values truth and knowledge. Ethiopia’s youngsters have chosen the road of civilisation. She’ll also keep an eye on her foes. Learning, reasoning, debating, arguing, overcoming notions, acquiring knowledge, and relying on logic, proof, and information is the route of civilisation. Let us have first-class regional libraries in the future, followed by zonal and district libraries. Ethiopia will be surrounded by information hubs at all levels.
We’ll need a rectangle union for this. Ethiopians residing abroad, the government, local people, charities, and Ethiopians living in Ethiopia. The government enables locations and administers them. The building is funded in part by the local community. The construction will also include volunteers. Ethiopians who live abroad help by collecting literature, providing technology, and creating new technologies. If such is the case, knowledge will flow like Ethiopian streams, watering future generations. Ethiopia will be a lot better country tomorrow than it is now; it will be a cultured country built on knowledge.
I’d want to take this time to thank everyone who helped with the library’s design, building, and completion. The folks looked after the library and kept it safe; When it is broken, I repair it; when it is deficient, I pass it on to the next generation.
May Ethiopia be great and honoured by her children’s efforts, and may she live forever!!
God bless Ethiopia and its people!
