“What is Hirut’s father’s name?” Film received its diploma 57 years later. 

The first black-and-white film in Ethiopia, “Who is Hirut’s father?” was released 57 years later in 1957. Today, Mayor Adanech Abebe of the Addis Ababa City Administration formally launched the video. 

 

“What is Hirut’s father’s name?” It not only opened a new chapter in Ethiopian history, but it also served as a source of inspiration for all subsequent works of art. He described it as a historic event that enlightened many smart persons.

 

 Ethiopia, he claims, began the project earlier than normal but has yet to attain the appropriate level in the film business. “Ethiopia is a country of various cultures, languages, and beliefs,” she continued, “yet the terrorist organization has attempted and failed to dissolve this partnership.”

“Our artwork should be a huge potential that will promote the togetherness and solidarity of Ethiopians and help us in our country’s resurrection path,” the mayor remarked of the need to develop the arts. 

Dr. Hirut Kassaw, Head of the Addis Ababa Culture and Tourism Bureau, praised the Development Bank of Ethiopia for its meticulous management of the debt-ridden film. 


According to information gathered from the mayor’s office, the film industry is still being asked to lend money. Several experts who contributed to the occasion were honored.
